Peacefinder Booklets

In every home and in every family there is a need for the saving love of Jesus Christ, but that need is not on everyone’s priority list. For some the need is financial. They are out of work and wondering how they are going to make ends meet. For others it’s relational. There is trouble in the marriage or with the children. Some have lost a spouse or a child. They are looking for support in the grieving process. In every home there is some felt need that needs to be ministered to. The Peacefinders felt-need booklet series was developed to address many of those needs in a practical, biblically based way. We are pleased to offer these booklets free of charge to our book readers through our Path to Peace and Radiant Living mailings and our website, www.peacefinders.org. Readers may not be ready to acknowledge or even be aware of their deeper spiritual need, but here is something that can bridge the gap, hopefully leading them closer to Christ.

These booklets are also available for purchase for personal distribution from our bookstore, by individual title or as a set of all 14 titles.

Stop Smoking

01_Stop_Smoking_smDr. Corrine Husten, MD, MPH states, "Not smoking, or quitting if you smoke cigarettes now, is the number one thing you can do for your health."

* Smoking is the greatest source of preventable death in our society.

Overcoming Addiction

02_Addiction_Free_smOver 14 million Americans suffer from alcohol abuse or dependence and nearly 43% of Americans have grown up with, or are married to, someone with an alcohol problem. Illicit drug and alcohol use cost American taxpayers over $143 billion annually.

Successful Marriages

03_Marriage_smMartin Luther declared, "There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage."

Do you desire more out of your marriage? Most of us can make a good marriage great.

Defeating Loneliness

04_Loneliness_sm

"In our society, loneliness is a secret we keep - sometimes from ourselves," notes Ann Peplau, PhD., a professor of social psychology at UCLA. She goes on to state, "There is an assumption out there that if you're lonely, it must be your own fault."

Hope In Times of Trouble

05_Hope_in_Times_of_Trouble_sm When it comes to disappointment, life treats each one of us equally. No one lives a disappointment-proof life. Disappointment, whether with others or ourselves, is an age-old problem.

Financial Security

06_FinanceIn 2004 the average American home had more than $8,000 in credit card debt and nearly $20,000 in consumer debt (including credit cards and automobiles). In 2009 nearly 1 in 4 American homeowners were "underwater" in their mortgages - owing more money than the house was worth.

Stress Management

07_Stress_sm

Stress can deprive us of emotional balance, rob us of health, and shorten the span of our lives. Sometimes it seems that life itself is a breeding ground for stress...trafic jams, difficult bosses, rebellious children, uncooperative workers, tight deadlines, relationship issues, etc.

Single Parenting

08_Single_ParentingBetween 1980 and 2008 the number or single parent homes in the US increased 51%. Over 10.5 million households are now presided over by a single parent.  Increasingly parents, both mothers and fathers, are raising their children alone.

Successful Parenting

09_Successful_Parenting_sm Strong and healthy families know how to work together for the common good. Often, the test of a family comes when there is a crisis. Then, some families pull together while others pull apart. Cultivating bonding traits encourages individual family members to become a team.

Grief Recovery

10_GriefThe death of a loved one signals changes - large and small - in the lives of survivors. A loss to death heightens feelings of loneliness, vulnerability and anxiety. The first twelve months following such a loss are extremely chaotic. C.S. Lewis declared, "In grief, nothing 'stays put'....

Healing of Sorrow

11_Sorrow

According to a Chinese proverb, a day of sorrow is longer than a month of joy. There is truth in that ancient wisdom. When dark, difficult, dreary days come, the weight seems unbearable, the length unending. Such days of sorrow and sadness come to all. The litany of human sorrows can be very long.

Life After Death

12_Life_After_Death_smSince sin entered the world the human race has been searching for the secret of eternal youth. For many eternal aging would be an acceptable substitute. Only 12.9% of the U.S. population was over age 65 in 2009. In the abscence of living forever many are searching for answers to what happens after you die.

Divine Healing

13_Divine_Healing

Doctors and medical scientists are increasingly studying the role which faith plays in healing. In recent years more than 200 studies have been done, and the evidence demonstrates clearly that there is a beneficial link between faith and ones health.

Overcoming Depression
